Restaurant History
The Albergo Ristorante Canè in Dozza has a history that goes back almost a century.
The foundation, according to information contained in some documents of the time, dates back to 1928 from an idea of Giulio Canè who then managed the structure until 1960. Thanks to the strategic position on the border between Emilia and Romagna, and the enviable panoramic hillside location ideal for a day trip, the hotel and restaurant soon became a point of reference in the hospitality panorama of the area.
In particular for users coming from the Emilian capital wanting to spend one or more days away from the city. Later, the management of the restaurant passed to the founder’s daughter, Ione Canè, who ran it together with her husband Giuliano Carreri until 1983 when Gian Battista Gaddoni and his wife Giuliana took over at the helm of the business for four decades. A constant rise that of Canè in the restaurant and hospitality scene of the area developed in parallel with the growing national and international prestige of the village of painted walls.
An excellent hospitality opportunity that has become, over time, the ‘home’ of many champions of two- and four-wheel speed on stage at the nearby Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack in Imola. But also personalities of Italian sports and entertainment, many of whom took to the stage of the famous Dancing Club ‘Piro Piro’ in Toscanella di Dozza between the ’70s and ’90s, with one name above all: that of the unforgettable Enzo Tortora, a close friend of the journalist from Dozza Dino Biondi.
